I think in the cumulative 4 years or so of teaching this is the first lesson I have ever finished in time for the holiday it was meant to represent! Inspired by a post from fellow blogger Mini Matisse, I had previously done this lesson using paint instead of collage. This year I added the collage because it tied into the first lesson my kindergartners did this year based on the book
Elmer the Patchwork Elephant. For this lesson we discussed symmetry and pattern. Cute, no? The bulletin board work will follow soon...
