Hi, thanks for the compliment. My leave replacement did this when I was on maternity, so I don't know the exact procedure she used, but from the looks of it she had the kids use black oil pastel to draw the insects and then tempera paint to fill them in. Hope that helps!

These are great and so suitable for Grade 1. Did you use black oil pastels for the drawing or wax crayons? I'm going to try this lesson next week :)
